Jacques Godbout takes us into the world of Anne Hébert, a woman he considered his spiritual sister and who had only one raison d’être: literature. During the four decades of her creative process, this Quebecois poet and novelist rose to the ranks of the greatest French-language writers, with books such as Kamouraska, Les fous de Bassan and Le tombeau des rois.

Albert Teixidó (Bert) travels to the island of Mallorca after receiving a mysterious letter from his childhood friend Bernardo, who disappeared months earlier in the Tramontana mountains. On the island, he searches for clues to locate his friend, clues that will lead him to reveal forgotten events from the past and coincidences from the present, provoking Bert's obsession with continuing the search. This all culminates in an obsessive and metaphorical initiatory journey into the unknown.

Bert has just turned 14 and he just got dumped by his girlfriend. He decides to try to find love again but encounters different obstacles, such as hot guitar guys, embarrassing parents and sudden pimple outbreaks.

The documentary - featuring a combination of rarely seen archival footage, new segments filmed on location worldwide, and interviews with leading international experts - also uncovers the untold story of the central role Irish Americans played in the lead-up to the rebellion. Although defeated militarily, the men and women of the Easter Rising would wring a moral victory from the jaws of defeat and inspire countless freedom struggles throughout the world - from Ireland to India.

A moving portrait of filmmaker Pierre Hébert, which retraces his extraordinary career and shares all about his passion for burning onto film.
